Revival isn’t something that floats from the sky and hits you and all of the sudden you have “revival”. Revival is each individual being sold out for Jesus. My good friend Nick Palka preached an amazing message on personal revival a few months back. His basic idea was this; before we ever have corporate revival, we need personal revival. You need to be alive before you can bring others to life.
So with that being said, if you have been brought to life, what is stopping you from being revival everywhere you go? If I touch people, Jesus touches people. I actually believe this. He goes with me. The Father thinks pretty highly of us, He put His Holy Spirit inside of us. It would be a real shame if we live our whole lives with this precious gift and we never shared it with anyone. Once it’s over, it’s over. There’s no going back, there’s no second chance. We have today. We have right now. You can’t make people give their lives to Jesus, but you can love them enough to tell them the truth. They still have to decide.
Light the fire again
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5 NKJV
I can’t escape this verse. All of our striving hasn’t brought more people into the Kingdom. Our programs and events haven’t touched the world. It’s the presence of God. Things change because God is with us. If you’re at work and everyone is fighting, what changes their attitudes? The boss walking in the room. Everyone stops arguing, and starts getting to work. What am I getting at? It was the presence of the boss that changed things, not arguing and bickering. So, if we want to change lives, we need the presence of our God to go with us. This only comes through time with Him.
The Holy Spirit is a way better Evangelist than I’ll ever be. If I can leave people with Him, He can take care of them. We’re often so concerned with “getting people saved” that we forget to plant seeds. You won’t have a harvest without planting seeds! So how does revival come? From you! “Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”” Luke 17:20-21 NKJV
What to do now?
We need Jesus more than the air we breathe. In fact, He sustains everything by the word of His power. (Hebrews 1:3) God desires us more than we desire Him, so let’s give ourselves to Him, and revival will only be the byproduct.
JESUS BLESS YOU FRIENDS!
